I know, I know…..hanging a mirror is easy, right? Well for all of those people who struggle (like I do) every time they try to hang a mirror on the wall, this is for you.
The Easiest Way To Hang A Mirror
Anyone who has ever hung a mirror probably knows that such a simple task can be a real pain in the butt! Being off by the smallest of margin with your mirror hanging hardware can make it impossible to line the mirror up correctly to hang on your wall.
This Will Blow Your Mind!
No more re-drilling holes or lopsided mirrors. No more struggling to get your mirror to line up and grab the wall anchors. No more guessing!
This super easy DIY project hack will make hanging your mirror super fast and easy. It truly is the best way to hang a mirror.
- Wall anchors
- Drill or screw driver
- Masking Tape
- Level (optional – can use tape measure if you do not have a level)
- Tape measure
Hang A Mirror In 7 Easy Steps!
Step 1: Decide where you want to hang your mirror. Use a tape measure to center it above your vanity or dresser. For this example we will use a vanity in the bathroom.
Example: If the Vanity is 36″ wide, the center of the mirror should be at the center of the vanity or a the 18″ mark.
Step 2: Lay mirror flat with the hanging brackets exposed. Take a piece of masking tape and run it across the full width of the mirror, directly over the brackets.
Example: As shown in photo below.
Step 3: Make holes with a screwdriver or use a pen to mark the middle of the hanging brackets. It is important to note that each hole or mark is directly in the center of the hanging bracket.
Example: Shown in image below
Step 4: Remove the tape from the mirror. Be careful not to rip the tape. Place the tape on the wall at the desired height and location. Use the tape measure to center it appropriately.
Step 5: Ensure that the tape is level on the wall. This can be done with a level (if you have one available) or with the help of a tape measure. If you are using a tape measure, simple measure the distance from the tape to the vanity surface on both ends, as well as the middle. If the tape is level, the distance will be the same at all points.
Step 6: Once level and place appropriately, use a drill or screw driver to insert wall anchors and hanging hardware into the marks or holes on the tape.
Step 7: Once in place, simple remove the tape and hang the mirror. DONE!
If done correctly (and this makes it incredibly easy to do), the brackets should line up PERFECTLY with the wall anchors.
This saved me so much time trying to line up the brackets with the wall anchors. No more re-drilling holes or lopsided mirrors.
Now was that not super easy? Hanging a mirror should not be hard, but I know I have struggled getting it to line up perfectly on the wall way too many times. Never again……
